How it got made

The brief, the room, the frame.

I go back a long way with Broken Toys Theatre. I acted in their Three Sisters in 2013, had a cameo on video in Star Killing Machine, and I’ve shot their promo images for Three Sisters, Star Killing Machine and, more recently, I’ll Be Here at the 2025 Fringe.

Betrayal was their production of the Pinter play, directed by Clinton Carew, at the Arts Barns in the spring of 2019. Elena Porter brought me in, and we shot the cast in my studio, close and wide, with a rust colour running through the background. Each actor got their own Facebook banner too, and when 12th Night previewed the show, it ran one of my frames.
