How it got made

The brief, the room, the frame.

Sheldon Casavant is a magician, and he brought the fire himself. Our first shoot was years ago in my old garage studio, and the black behind him is literally the garage doors, painted black. Fire, powder, the whole act.

He came back in November 2018 for new images for his show at the Capitol Theatre. On the table shot, I started playing with the grade afterward and found something I fell in love with.
