Preparing For Your Fast Track Session

PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME

Fast Track sessions are slotted into small gaps in my schedule, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early rather than right at your start time — arriving late eats into your own session time and can push into whatever's booked right after.

Since these slots come from small gaps in my day, there's a slim chance I'll still be wrapping up with a client before you when you arrive. Don't stress if that happens — you'll still get your full 30 minutes, it just starts whenever we actually get going.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All Fast Track bookings are final. Because these are same-week, last-minute openings, there are no refunds or rescheduling once you've booked.

CLOTHING

Keep it simple. Since this is a single-outfit session, come dressed and ready to go.

A few quick guidelines:

  • Solid colours work well — navy, charcoal, black, white, lighter neutrals, and most shades can all work — regardless, just make sure there's good contrast against your skin tone.

  • Avoid busy patterns or logos that pull focus from your face

  • Make sure it fits well and isn't wrinkled — the camera sees everything

  • A blazer or jacket over a top gives a clean, polished line if you're not sure what to wear

MAKEUP

(If you wear makeup daily, keep reading — if you don't, you probably don't need this section)

Keep it simple. You want your headshot to represent you — dramatic makeup "fads" will date your headshot fast, while a natural look stays timeless. The retouching can clean up blemishes, so if you break out the day before, don't worry.

Try to avoid:

  • Heavy eyeliner (top and bottom) — avoid sharp, hard lines

  • Heavy eyeshadow

  • Pencilled-in eyebrows with a harsh line — keep it natural

  • Fake eyelashes — they can weigh down the eyelids

  • Heavy blush

  • Lip liner

  • Lipstick — bring a clear/neutral gloss or a hydrating neutral lipstick instead

  • Powder foundation — liquid concealer reads better on camera

WHAT TO EXPECT

I shoot tethered directly into my computer, so we review shots together as we go — you'll see exactly what you're getting in real time. No need to overthink posing, I'll direct you through it.

IMAGE SELECTION

There's no gallery to sort through afterward — you'll select your final image right at the end of the shoot, together, on the spot.

DELIVERY

Retouching isn't finalized until you approve it — so take your time reviewing, there's no charge for additional revisions. Once you're happy and it's approved, a download button is added to your gallery. Images are ready within 1 week of your selection. Files are delivered as a high-resolution JPG and a web-optimized JPEG. If you need a different format, just let me know.

Payment

Your session and first image are already paid in full — nothing owed on the day. If you love more than one shot, additional images can be purchased during the session.
